I'd like to ask if there is anything that can be done to improve clips like these.
They are Workprinter transfers from standard 8 film from the 1970s. I'm not sure what is technically wrong with them in that I know it's not just brighness/contrast but I'm not actually sure what is wrong or whether they can be improved. Software like Vegas has lots of interesting tools but unless you know what the problem is, they're not much use. If anyone can look at them and see straight away what needs to be done, please let me know.
This is very underexposed even with the iris on the camcorder wide open. It was raining. Other shots from the same day are good.
And then there's this...
Again, other clips from this scene are fine.
